The Daphne is a system tray application to kill,control,debug and hide certain Windows processes.It is also known by the name ‘Task manager replacement’.Kill a process by dragging the mouse over the windows,by right clicking the process in the main process list, or by using its name with the “Kill all by name” command or again Kill menu,which is a customisable menu,each menu has a process list to kill upon activation.

The main window displays details info pertaining to:

CPU usage,

Process ID,

Process Name,

Full Path(and arguments),

Priority,Class(process/service),

Current Memory Usage,

Peak memory usage,

Current Swap usage,

Peak Swap Usage,and number of threads,

and highlighting of Process List with colors for custom,system and high CPU consumption processes.

The T Mobile USA working with Google Inc to fix the flaw in Google Android Phone,a few days after its release.The security features of G 1 phone would limit the extend of any damage.T mobile G1 mobile phone already has security levels in place to prevent further intrusion.The network security researches say that any intruder could install malicious software that can capture keystrokes from the Google phone.

A flaw in the T mobile USA G1 phone after few days of its lauch was very crucial!T mobile is working with Google Inc and other Android partners to fis the flaw.Android is the open source operating system that runs the new G1 mobile phone.Researches have made it to the public about the flaws as they are unaware about the potential threats.

Also they are trying to make them aware that sophesticated smart phones face the same threats that make the PCs vulnerable from the internet.

Well I just thought that Engadget and Ubergizmo are at the zenith of their techy invasion. So its time to throw some light upon some of the upcoming and best tech blogs that have to be appreciated for the work that they have put in and how they, in a very small period of time have come up the ranks in almost reverse geometric progression.

I am listing some of the favourites..

insPyreIT is my first choice. Well the blog is on the roll. I saw the blog for the first time about two three months ago and at that time it did not appeal to me since it was short of good material. But the chap has put in a lot of work since then and at this instant it has a rank of 800000 or so.

Now wait a minute, I ain’t solely relying on the rank or traffic to the blog. The quality of the content is fabulous. Well, it has to go a long way, but its ubercool.

Well, I ain’t saying its sort of cool or whatever. Neither it has a good reputation like ubergizmo or coolest-gadgets. But its got a multitude of content and thats what I liked about it. Well, it shows coarseness on the content but thats about it.

Now the idea was incepted into my mind when I found that although we have been provided with the latest softwares for download, that too free of cost, some people never leave their old and trustworthy tools in order to look out for better ones. This might be a problem for techies who always change for better softwares and tools for enhancing their working capability.

Take me for example. Most of the times I blog from my uncle’s firm and sometimes help him out. He is a rookie user of technology. Here, as may be the case with many of us, we use Microsoft Office 2003. So when someone sends us stock orders for products and sales in Microsoft Office 2007, we are screwed. The files require conversion, and neither do we have the time to download all the softwares for all the conversions b/w the two versions of Microsoft Office.

More problem is encountered when at home, I try to play media files of several different formats in the laptop. Using different media softwares for playing different File formats is ridiculous, since we have several formats available and most of them are exquisite ones like divX and Xvid and rip, whatever it be.

My point is for such conversions, I tried to look over the web when voila! I came across a series of websites that I saw could find a permanent place in my bookmarks list. Well, atleast most of them. For your information and for my documentation, I thought that I might list them out…

Lets start with the good ol’Zamzar..

Zamzar has alleviated all my problems of document conversions as of now. But I found one flaw in the site. The site responds too slowly when its overloaded and we get the converted document very late. Please Zamzar, do something about it.

But like other sites, we do not require to sign-in in order to convert files, hence no registration is required(for files of smaller size). But if the files are larger and we want faster conversions, its possible only if we register in Zamzar.

iconv is another site that blew my head away by the variety of file conversions that it offers.

Whats new here? Well, its nothing much except that we can know the format of a file whose format if not known, does a file transfer using FTP for converting pesky end-of-line characters to normal new line characters (like ^M), converts DOS to UNIX formats, converts MAC to Unix formats, PDF to text, phew! Want more? I will give you…

File sorting  in ASCII order for the records in files, ASCII to EBCDIC, fixed record format to delimited data conversion and vice-versa,  Differentiate between the contents of two files and show which lines in the files differ, mp3 information in mp3 tags,etc. Still want more? Okay…

iconv also lets you to convert several b/w exquisite audio formats and also converts metadata like iTunes XML for iTunes playlists to M3U records for giving playlist information to other players.

Do check it out for Unix File conversions as the conversions are pretty accurate…

Next in the list comes media-convert. This file conversion site is a really cool one, especially because the conversions are really fast and spontaneous without much user interaction, just like zamzar.

The online conversion steps are cited in the conversion page itself and the best thing about this site is that we can transfer the converted file directly to our mobile phone. I have not seen such a large choice of supported file formats in any other site.

The site also encompasses the facility to club videos together, thumbnail making, audio-splitting, and a whole glossary of file formats supported by various cell phone models…

Get down the Google page and you find Vixy, a trademarked FLV file converter that converts your FLV Youtube files and stores them to the disk in several audio and video formats. This is nothing great as compared to other sites though the conversion quality is cool enough.

videocodezone is another online conversion  tool. The tool has been able to get into my list because, it is used for converting videos from all the major online downloadable video stores like video.google.com, youtube.com, dailymotion.com, ifilm.com, myspace.com, metacafe.com, break.com, etc…

The conversion mechanism is highly simple but there have been complaints about the video quality. I liked the site for its simplicity.

Netvibes is another file, audio and video conversion site. The good thing about this site is that it provides a conversion widget to users that will do the conversion, after users install the widget to their desktop. I tried it, but although the conversion has no complaints, I would suggest that you should mot opt for the widget if your internet connection is slow, since that causes conversion problems and the converted file may float in the internet space if the connection breaks or if it shows limited connection. What I would do in such a situation is that I would opt for something like media-convert.

A laptop containing strategic information was stolen from McCain’s field office, Missouri, as reported by latest sources.

The thieves through a brick to break a glass pane and gain access to the office in Independence, MO. The Dell laptop which was stolen from McCain’s office contained campaign information of Kansas city for McCain and other republican candidates.

The theft was considered to be a politically motivated one, and fingers are drawn towards the Democrats.

Yes, the rumors that you have heard are true. Blackberry is going to come out with its own App Store that will give some tough competition to Apple’s AppStore. The AppStore reported to be out for the newer series of Blackberry phones will be incepted initially only in the Blackberry Bold, the touchscreen version of the phone series.

The on-device music shopping portal will be coming as a great relief to all the techies who loved the BlackBerry but were restrained  from buying it because it was slated as a business phone.

The major difference b/w Apple’s AppStore and Blackberry’s AppStore would be that Blackberry would have its carrier(NSDQ:RIMM) hosting its services rather than RIM, as is the case with the iPhone.
