Obama has been said to turn the iPhone into a political support winning gadget. Phew! One more use for the iPhone? I must say so.

Lets see the cherry of the cake…

A software has been developed for the iPhone that can arrange contacts in the swing states. Obama’s blog comments that this software helps people to get directly involved in his campaign. The software was developed in less than 3 weeks. Thats great!

People directly involved with the campaign say this phone software is having a great influence in turning out votes for Obama.

There are other features too. Some of them are…

Making notes on friends which have been called..

Who one’s friends are supporting and

Remainder on the day of voting…

The privacy of users and friends are never reported outside the SIM since the tailing of calls yields no results, hence no voting information is compromised. The application also passes on videos of the voting day, the swing states, the updated news of the campaign, etc. Thus I think that Obama will have a greater effect, if not on the presidential election, atleast on the technological advancement desiring to help the field of politics. A symbiotic relationship perhaps. Then later on, McCain can use a hoard of hackers to tweak the software in order to swing the votes to his side. Maybe, I said, maybe.

But there is also another aspect to be considered..

Do all the Americans have iPhones? I don’t qutie think so. Atleast a 50% don’t and I am sure about that. Well then what is the hype all about. Does Obama think that this news about him using the help of Technology, more constrictively, the iPhone, will help him winning a handful of votes? Maybe, but I think that Obama must also give a look at the pilot statistics of the iPhone software launch that would give him a fair idea of about how the software is doing in making voteouts.

Nokia challenges iPhone? No, as you may take it to be, Nokia is not into some sort of brawl with the US Giant. The Finnish Giant retaliated by rolling out its new 8GB touch screen hunk including unlimited music downloads, and a whole  set of new features like GPS navigation and sharp music quality.

The music downloads capability has been brought in as a competitor for Apple’s iTunes. The hunk is named as Nokia 5800 Xpress Music and has maps and satellite navigation.

Evading the tax calculation, I must say that the set must cost around $400 for the Europeans. Thats cool considering the iPhone does fit into the same cost range.

The phone is also compatible with Nokia’s Comes with Music service, the iTunes competitor, hence we know that Nokia is definitely trying to give a killer blow to the iPhone.

But its far too early to give any analysis on the market turn-around. Thats because, the iPhone had a good publicist and hence was able to generate the required hype while the phone rolled out. But this may hinder the Finnish company’s phone launch, that being the major factor in providing the market valur for the 8GB beast.
